Western Landmark Homes sells two kinds of factory built homes, Manufactured Homes and UBC Modular Homes. Both kinds of homes are built in the same factory and the interior and exterior appearance can be the same, but there are distinct differences.
The Manufactured Home is built to Federal standards (the HUD Code) and is accepted in all states. The home is built on a heavy steel frame which is an integral part of the structure.
The UBC Modular Home is built to the Uniform Building Code (UBC) or "stick built" code and must be approved by each state, city and/or county building department. For this reason, the UBC Modular Home is more expensive to build and to get permitted. However, it is classed as "stick built" home for financing and resale purposes.
Western Landmark Homes sells both Manufactured and UBC Modular homes. We will be happy to provide you with more details about the pros and cons of each type. For more information, call (760) 765-4201.
